I have deposited ZnO:Al (Transparent conductive oxide) on textured-Si substrate. Since textured surfaces itself work as graded refractive index between air and the bottom of the textures and hence, improve antireflection, now what is the role of thin film coating on textured surfaces to further improve the antireflection.

If it can be explained by destructive interference of reflected light rays then what is the role of local curvatures of textured surfaces and how it can be incorporated in the interference theory for AR coating?
