Hot oil heater is a utility of Amine sweetening unit, which delivers the heat energy, via dow-therm thermal oil, to reboiler of ASU for production of steam and hence helping stripping process of Acid gases. This is gas fired heater with 12MMBTU/Hr capacity. According to a rule of thumb stack temperature shoould be equal to outlet temperature of oil plus 50 F. But in our case outlet temperature is 305F and Stack temperature is 430F i.e a good amount of heat energy is being wasted with flue gases. Researchers opinion is valuable in this concern. In oil heater system, there is stack damper or stack gate to control pressure inside oil heater [convection zone], so if you want to recover some heat waste you should change gate exhaust gas gap to equalize exhaust gas temperature with out let of furnace. remember that is only one of the options
