How the spread of mycoplasma pneumonia at present is causing disaster in China ? Is this a mutant form ?

There has been a news of emerging diseases and outbreaks, stating that hospitals in Beijing and elsewhere in China were “overwhelmed with sick children” amid outbreaks of pneumonia. Is this different from the mycoplasma pneumonia of which the standard treatment protocols are established?.
