Dear all,
I am modelling Rock bolts using embedded beam row option in PLAXIS. I gave the Tskin value based on the bond strength between grout and the corresponding rock. But, I found that the axial force is not changing even after changing the stiffness of pile (increased by 10 times and keeping all the other parameters constant). What might be the reason for this?? Suggestions would be very helpful.

It should not happen. I guess, bonding between the pile element and rock is not properly defined. The bonding can be controlled using the parameter "Rinter". Make sure that the Rinter is set to 1. Some times this type of problem occurs if Rinter value is very less.

Thankyou for your reply.. I have given Rinter value of 0.66 (assumed, no proper reference)... But, embedded pile row has an inbuilt interface elements and It makes used of Tskin value to find out the stiffness matrix if I am not wrong.. So, Does Rinter value really impact the values?? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Plaxis results with embedded pile are so sensitive to the values of skin and base resistance which should be entered manually. Try to re-calculate them.
