Dear researchers, would anyone help me understanding how the spin of electrons could be affected on graphene layer if hBN is laid beneath that graphene layer?
What do you exactly mean? Generally single layer graphene on hBN is "free standing", so you should have the properties of real graphene with a small effect of the substrate. Regarding the spin, the major effect you can have in single layer graphene it depends from the strip of the sample with the "Quantum spin hall effect" (https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.95.226801). I hope it helps
Dr. Kai Fauth, actually I am seeking the change with and without hBN below graphene bi-layer that could affect the carrier mobility, noise and bio-sensing performance. Thanks for your time. Have a great day, sir.
