I was delegated to research a policy that would substantially increase regulation of education in elementary or secondary schools in the U.S. Any suggestions for a starting point or advice?
Personally, I am in favor of necessary regulation to protect and promote the welfare of students, but under the current administration, and with Republicans in charge of both Houses of Congress, I don't think you have much chance. This is not my area, but I do think that I heard that Trump threatened to remove two regulations for each new one ... though I've heard that is yet another ridiculous statement he has made, and of course, far too arbitrary to make any logical sense.
But if you are to look into this, perhaps contacting Democrat members of the appropriate Senate committee may provide you with some information. Here is the link to that committee's website: http://www.help.senate.gov/about/members
Senator Al Franken's office, for example, might provide some information and suggestions for you.
Ok, thank you for your response. I was doing more research on this topic and I was examining a proposal to remove standardized testing across the U.S. If anyone is an expert on this field.
