I have several stock powders that I'd like to store for as long as possible in a refridgerator. We have limited access to N2, so what I've been doing is distributing the stock powder into smaller vials, blowing with N2, sealing and storing in bags with desiccant. The bags are just CVS sandwhich bags, and the dessicant turns color rapidly. I'd really like to know if there are official lab bags or a better means to store the chemicals. I've heard of a box that you can pump air out of, and wondered if you guys think it makes much of a difference.

What are some best practices that you can recommend?
