Hi Everyone!
I do my thesis about snow melting in Austrian Alps and I have some issues. I would like to create a water mask to filter out the water bodies from the study using Sentinel 2 images. And I would like to do a validation process too, using MODIS product and PCA method. Of course if there is any other (easier) validation process please let me know because I am looking for it everywhere on the Internet but I couldn't find anything useful and of course if there is any Suggestion, I would be very glad if you tell me.

One should use Terra MODIS 8 day composite (MOD10A2) for validating NDSI created from band ratio. This should give you a rough estimate.
