Minimum of data collected over a period of 1 year is required. Variables like temperature, humidity, duration of day light, etc.. can be considered.

Hi,

in most cases power consumption depends heavily on temperature and social behavior, so at least you need to cover all cases that occur during the year (working days, holidays, winter, summer ...) and when you split your data assure that those cases occur in all part of training, validation and test sets.
