We recently purchased a Gerstel PTV (Programmed Temperature Vaporizer with septum head and Liquid CO2 cooling).

I am trying to use an application on page A -19 of the Gerstel application notes from www.gerstelus.com/admin/prod_file.php?file=GC_Injection_Primer.pdf

and I am finding that it uses quite a lot of Liquid CO2 just to cool ONLY the inlet down to -20C; there is no oven cooling. ( One cylinder of size EE Liquid CO2 (15m3) cannot be used for more than 10 injection for this application.)

I would appreciate if anyone could kindly let me know what your Liquid CO2 consumption experience was when using a PTV since this appears to be highly unusual.
