In response surface methodology, while calculating central composite design Minitab software shows 20 runs for 3 factors where as in Stastica software it shows only 16/17 runs. Which software is correct? Even it is confusing in some journals also. Some journals take 20 runs and some 16 runs.
I dont think it doesnt matter which software you.are using for analysis of data. Even you can use Excel to get the required coefficients, but the only thing Excel will not give you reaydimade and beautiful graphs. Youhave to plot the graphs and do the post ANOVA or ANOMA analysis etc.
Minitab is requiring 2 or 3 more experiments because of multiple experiments (2 or 3) at the center point (0 0 0). Other software may be considering single experiments at (0 0 0). This is the only possible reason.
