How many theoretical models are there about VCSELs characteristics using rate equation?

I want to use a simulink code to verify the experimental result which have been done on a VCSEL device by using external optical feedback, the measurements were the L-I curve, intensity of polarization modes as a function of time and frequency and some others, I know the spin-flip model but I think is not easy to be used in a simulink program

Can anyone suggest a simulink code, or a simple theoretical model which can be used in the simulink program?
