I try to solve rate equation using simulink in Matlab, more precisely,
the simulink functions ode23 and ode45 have been used to solve rate equation to verify chaotic dynamics of VCSEL? each model gives different behaviours and results,
in the first model, some results seem to be OK (which is not in the second model) but the rest not sure! (but seem to be OK in the second model!)

The solvers should be used depending on the stiffness of equations. If you are doing a numerical analysis, you can define an error and select points on the grid in such a way as to minimise that error. od e 45 and ode23 should be able to give you decent results.

ode23 and ode45 both are equal capable of producing good result.Check the tolerance limit you have specified and the other internal parameters.
