How many pollen grains are required to spread on a stigma for getting sufficient seeds from a cross of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.)?
A successful pollination is not only depend on how many pollens needed for it, but it also depends on other factors such as when is the time for pollination, and how fresh your pollens are, etc.

No. of factors are responsible for this. stigma receptivity, pollen viability, time of dehiscence, etc. In rice we observed that quantity is not important.other factors r need to take into consideration.
