International conferences are a good chance to meet researchers in different fields and same field, so, how many international conferences did you participate in as a researcher?
thank you for the interesting question. Personally I think you should be careful on what "type" of international conference you're planing to attend. Big conferences like (e.g. world congresses/ regional conferences of international professional associations) provide valuable opportunity to getting an overview or learn more about research done in distant fields and/or countries. When it comes to networking and forging ties to researchers from abroad (or other sub-fields) I personally prefer smaller, more workshop-like meetings that allow for more intensive exchange.
