Most of the clinical trial to evaluate safety for the flu vaccine consider adverse effects (AE) just 21 days after shot. Most of the studies include healthy people, but vaccines are given to elderly and sick people. Most of the studies are carried out by pharmaceutical laboratories or researchers linked to them.
The NCT01162122 (maybe the only public) study found more serious adverse effects, including double the fatality rate in patients who received adjuvant vaccine compared to those who received dose without adjuvant (revaccination event).
