Kingdoms in Biology have been considered as six generally in The US whereas five in other regions. For example US publications have usually considered Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista, Archaea/Archaebacteria and Bacteria/Eubacteria as Kingdoms whereas other regions consider Animalia, Plantae, Fungi, Protista and Monera as five kingdoms. While it may be not be completely possible to suggest which is correct and which isn't, is there any common understanding as which one is followed more than the other?
In 1969 Whittaker was divided to 5 kingdoms which ( Prokaryotae, Protoctista, Fungi, Plantae and Animalia) but in 1993, some scientists was divided to 6 kingdoms which (Archaea bacteria, Eubacteria, Protists, Fungi , Plants and Animals).
There are five kingdom introduced by Robert Whittaker in 1968 as a way to categorise all organisms.
Living organisms are divided into five kingdoms:
1. Prokaryotae
2. Protoctista
3. Fungi
4. Plantae
5. Animalia
but most scientists agree there are six Kingdoms Here is how the six kingdoms are organized.
1. Archaea bacteria
2. Eubacteria
3. Protists
4. Fungi
5. Plants
6. Animals
Dear Renu, I have seen 5, 6, 7 and even 8 biological kingdom classifications. Scientists currently disagree as to how many kingdoms there are, but MOST are in support of the 5-kingdom arrangement viz Animalia, Plantae, Protista, Monera and Fungi. The 6-kingdom system proposed Archaebacteria, Eubacteria, Protista, Fungi, Plantae and Animalia. The 7-kingdom system proposed Protomonera, Monera, Protista, Myxomycophyta, Plantae, Fungi and Animalia. And finally, the British zoologist Thomas Cavalier-Smith's 8-kingdom system proposed Animalia, Plantae, Protista, Fungi, Archaebacteria, Eubacteria, Chromista and Archezoa. This last classification has been a major foundation in modern taxonomy, particularly with revisions and re-organizations of kingdoms and phyla.

Organisms are placed into six Kingdoms of life including Archaebacteria, Eubacteria, Protista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia. But, Ruggiero et al. (2015) present a consensus classification of life to embrace the more than 1.6 million species already provided by more than 3,000 taxonomists’ expert opinions in a unified and coherent, hierarchically ranked system known as the Catalogue of Life (CoL). Such a modern comprehensive hierarchy has not previously existed at this level of specificity. According to this, organisms are classified into the prokaryotic kingdoms Archaea (Archaebacteria) and Bacteria (Eubacteria), and the eukaryotic kingdoms Protozoa, Chromista, Fungi, Plantae, and Animalia.
