Urtica dioica (stinging nettle) has been a native to Europe, Asia and the United States and is now found in all the continents of the world usually in form of wild weed in abandoned areas on high fertile soils.

Traditionally, it is known for its medicinal and edible uses in few regions. While there have been researches in this direction, I am not aware if any commercial scale interest is yet developed in this plant.

Are there any commercial researches being conducted to utilize its benefits on larger scale?
