how long fungus mycelia could be preserved for TBARS ( thiobarbituric acid) assay. as i have Ganoderma lucidum mycelia preserved since 8 months and i am not sure whether or not it is still ok to measure tbars in?
The most important factor for preservation is temperature, since unsaturated fatty acids are unstable even if at - 60⁰ C. If your samples were preserved at - 80⁰ C, you can use them for TBARS analysis.
