It depends on the cell type and also the viral construct, but is there an average timing for the viral vector to start its expression? I transduce human iPSC with shRNA lentiviral constructs, any ideas in this case how long it would roughly take until I see the expression of my transduction control (in my case the vector is RFP tagged) ?
I agree with Tuncay, it's usually 48 hours. For some cell types and the adequate expression promoter you can start to detect it in the first 24 hours. I am working mainly with mouse embryonic stem cells, the expression levels reach the maximum after one passage. As infection efficiency you could assess it at 72 hours, but cells are becoming usually brighter after a split.
