The LISA Pathfinder is a very promising project for detecting gravitational waves for z>20 according to LISA scientists. How could be that possible? It is well known that a gravitational wave is travelling at the speed of light towards Earth without losing energy. But what happens if two different gravitational waves (from different sources) interfere? How do we know that our observing signal is coming from a source in the Early Universe and not, from two combined gravitational waves, in a distance closer to us (for example a gravitational wave from a BHBH collision and the other one from a NSNS collision )?
