Although Covid-19 has been the massive pandemic, there are still other patients with poor health due to other diseases. Emergence of dengue and kalazar has been noted in some parts of our country. How is your country dealing with other non-covid diseases and how are the patients being treated?
Sovit Parajuli absolutely; there are cases where doctors and nurses are refraining from even touching the patients. It is pathetic.
Isolation houses/centres were made in my country for infected cases while doctors carefully attend to them. Others are given some set of rules n how to exercise their daily lives which l think everybody is abiding by to assist the government.
Ajibola Ibrahim Quadri Thankyou for the information. Overall, your country is doing well to combat the virus. We will overcome it someday.
Terry Purvis
Thankyou for the information regarding your country. Hope to combat the virus soon. In our countrY, Nepal PPE isn’t still available in all hospitals and medical service regions. There has been cases where patients have been denied to be touched and deaths have also occured, a bitter truth in our countrY. However, with increasing PPE distribution and safety measures the situation is under improvement. There are incidents of non-COVID-19 deaths which unfortunately should not have happened if medical and para-medical personnels have been better prepared.
Clement Adebajo Meseko absolutely sir, it is such a mishap in the medical field.
Jasim Hassen
but still there are other patients who might need critical health careThere is a committee formed in my country, Jordan, on managing the crisis on the issue of COVID 19, and other chronic diseases, and everything is going great and there is support at the national level as an example.
Mutasem Z. Bani-Fwaz that is great news. Your country seems to be doing really good with combatting the virus.
Very interesting question! However, for now, it is difficult to know .... At least in Spain.
Rabin Thapa
In my country, Jordan, great control was achieved, and in many days, zero cases were recorded, and a large number were cured
Mutasem Z. Bani-Fwaz that is a great news. Many country should learn from that
Dear colleagues
Here we also have many cases of dengue, although they should decrease when winter comes, other respiratory diseases must increase.
Juan Napoles yes that’s true dear, we need to combat other diseases also
The focus has shifted to covid-19 and other diseases are not being treated as priority.
Some patients with other diseases such as cancer cannot access medical care in specialized clinics due travel restrictions
Some medics are turning down patients with other diseases suspecting them to be coronavirus patients and in fear that they could contract the disease especially if they do not have the safety equipment such as PPEs
Some patients with other diseases are reluctant to go to the hospital afraid of contracting the virus while there
Joan Nyika absolutely! We are facing similar conditions in our state as well.
Rabin Thapa it is good to share our experiences and know that we are not alone and hopefully will overcome together. It has not been easy with this pandemic for developing countries since we are dependent on developed countries that are adversely affected by it too or even worse than us
Joan Nyika absolutely we shall overcome someday as brothers from different nation.
Dealing with other patients is going according to the previous administrations and it was not affected much, as many chronic diseases often receive their medications, but the lack of money they have due to the lack of work in the presence of the Corona pandemic.
Luay A. Al-Helaly absolutely, the economy of the country along with marginalised people is under serious threat
