It is clear that based on the NAM index one can classify the SSW whether major or minor. On the other hand, there are studies relating to the strength of the SSW and tropospheric weather such as snowfall etc. I would like to know, are there any studies that relate to the tropospheric weather with NAM index? If so, what will be the relation and which processes relate to them?

There are quite a few studies relating NAM/NAO/AO to tropospheric weather and the occurrence of extreme events. In addition to those already recommended here are a few others:
Thompson et al., J.Clim, 2002 looks at temperature extremes
Scaife et al., j.Clim., 2008 discusses the associated changes heavy rainfall, and temperature extremes such as frosts and compares the changes to anthropogenic climate change
Baldwin and Dunkerton, Science, 2001 examine the changes in storms - see their Figure 5 following stratospheric NAM/AO changes
Kenyon and Hegerl, J.Clim, 2010 look at changes in extremes from the AO/NAO and other modes of variability such as ENSO for comparison.
