Yes, HF is diluted with water. My question is starting with 50% HF in water, is it possible to dilute it further by adding organic solvents to it without risk of reaction or HF losing its potency?
O. K., weak acid + weak nucleophilic and basic fluoride anion (in water containing solution), no redox action --> no rapid reaction. Mix both organic solvent and HF by addition of HF in to organic solvent. Protic solvents effective solve fluoride anion, but water most effective. Aprotic solvents are weak bases for protonation by HF action.
