It good publishing with standard free journals or pay for your publications. Its not about whether free journal or not.

Please check first for its rank according to Scopus or Clarivate, otherwise don't publish . Best regards.

I think some of Scopus jornals it's free but take a long time (minimum 6 months).

Well at least not some one's effort (intellectually ) , you can have open access but the real good ones with continual work and contribution I would say should not be !!!

So it is with publishing !! they need to maintain a database (for online or otherwise) who will fund it , if you don't !!!!!

I know many free, open access, peer reviewed journal. Those are actually free. The authority get fund for publication form some other sources. Please visit the site of " National institute of science communication and information resources ( NISCAIR)" to get the name of 13 such journals, most of which are with good Impact Factor of Thomson Reuters.

Based on my own experience, I agree with Viji. Most of JCR journals in my filed of study (Library science) are free of charge.
