Good question
There are many ways to divide insecticides to facilitate the study of the most important of these methods:
1. division on the basis of the method of entry of the pesticide to the body of the insect .
2. Partition the basis of the act on the toxic compound .
3. Division based on chemical composition .
4. Partition based on the method of use and the images or equipment used for the pesticide.
5. Division on the basis of acute toxicity on mammals .
You may need to study the insect respiratory system for contact pesticides and digestive system for systemic pesticides
Radio isotopic labeling is one of the method for that.
