In the Picture below you can see the geometry which I should investigate.
The one in the left is the complete geometry , and the one in the right is the one which I should use as the model in Abaqus and define symmetries on it.
How should I define symmetries In this case.
I defined two different Datum Coordinate systems in order to define all the symmetries , Bout When I run the Analysis It gives me an Error which says it is not possible to define symmetries and boundary conditions with respect to different Datum Coordinate systems.
Please let me know if you know the solution.
you can use one coordinate system for whole model i.e using cylindrical system with origin at the centroid of circle. in this case, (1,2,3) =(x,y,z)=(r,theta,z) and by defining u_theta=0 in your boundaries, you can see symmetry.
You can do complex symmetries using multipoint constraints, for example using cyclic symmetry. See the manual for all the options.

to discuss the type of symmetry boundary conditions to be applied to your unit cell it is important to know about the loading conditions. For example, if you subject this cell to the uniform tension on the top and bottom sides, you should consider a quarter of the geometry and apply symmetry BC along the symmetry axes.
