Recycling reduces the need for Raw materials so our Rainforest can be preserved and people should recycle because, If we recycle now there will be enough raw material for future generations. Plastics Save Energy and Water and Make Less Pollution than Alternatives. The reason plastic products be it bags, food packaging, or home siding are often the most affordable option is because they often require far fewer resources to make than paper, metal, stone, or glass alternatives. Try to reduce your plastic footprint by choosing food without plastic packaging and bringing a reusable bag. Some shops now have plastic-free aisles and many offer loose produce or use dispensers and refillable containers. Use your own coffee mug when out and about instead of accepting a plastic one. The best way to do this is by a) refusing any single-use plastics that you do not need, and b) purchasing, and carrying with you, reusable versions of those products. Plastic helps comply with safety and hygiene standards and protects the products we buy, like medicines. Plastic is durable, it doesn't break like glass, or disintegrate like paper. It protects the products it packages. Plastic is easy to print information on, such as food labels or allergy warnings.

As Dr. Gercham noted - it is cost and energy intensive (collection, separation, production), the product is poor in quality, plastic can't be recycled for more than a few times,and populations are not willing to do not unless compelled.
