How does COVID-19 affect Monocyte Migration Inhibitory Factor (MIF)?
MIF is decreased in Caco2 cells during SARS1 infection https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2292640/
SARS1 N-glycoprotein has a specific binding to human MIF protein https://academicjournals.org/journal/AJMR/article-full-text-pdf/8DC094212114
SARS1 and SARS2 glycoproteins have a ¬90% match.
There are no reports for MIF levels of patients either for SARS1 or SARS2 , there are only suggestions to use anti-MIF therapy for SARS1
