I work with 12 moths old rats and they were in caloric restriction at 15% and after 3 moths in this diet their levels of cholesterol and HDL increase three times more than ad libitum feeded rats.
I haven´t found an explanation for this and i hope you can help me.

Firstly, had you measured the levels of TG and LDL-C (or calculate) in the rat serum?
Following the guideline to diagnosis the serum lipid profiles clinically, when TC or LDL-C levels were rising at the same time with HDL-C, it was a normal and no dyslipidemia.
