I am willing to determine whether, one molecule or combination of molecules of interest our is having potential to reduce the number of pathogenic bacteria, present on any surface or not. what would be the best strategy to take samples from surfaces,please suggest. Is there any guideline to take samples from any surface pre and post exposure of any molecule?

You can test the MIC or MBC on some relatively sensitive non-pathogenic organisms as a preliminary test pehaps in liquid culture in a 96 well plate. This way you can measure many concentrations of the inhibitory substance under many conditions. It also has the added advantage that you can read the OD and assess what percentage of organisms are killed etc. As the commentator above says you can also do this on a agar plate by making well in the agar with your test substance and contols and covering the agar with a suspension of organisms .
