There are many studies about functionalizing different ZnS nanostructures. but i couldn't find anything about ZnS nanotube. Is it possible, at all?
would you please share me your experiences? is there any theoretical or experimental studies about it?

According to me you should try with thio- ligands because Cd, Zn and Hg have good affinity for S so you can use ligands with S and you can cross check whether your material get functionalised or not by using NMR or FTIR technique.
Thank you@Sagar i did not any experimental study on it but i have tried to functionalize it by sulfur-contain amino acid and mercaptoethanol, but at the end i saw concavity in nano tube. Therefore, i decided to ask here if anyone had similar experience or experimental study.

You are on the right track using sulfur-containing amino acids and mercaptans. It is not surprising that the structure of the ZnS nanotube changes. This is the way it should be as the hybridization changes when S atom forms a bond.

You've got O atom attached to Zn atom. Did it happen during relaxation/optimization or did you attach it during structure building? You could also try to flip the mercaptan molecule and attach its S end to Zn on the nanotube. Then, optimize and see what happens.

How you see Zn and O attached? Do you judge by distance? I can not see any binding. I optimize the two structures with (logical) distance from each other and then optimized it. without any binding.
You mean make Zn and S attached, then optimize and see what happens,( to see they are still connected or not?)
and last question, i did it by Material studio(Dmol3 module) , how can i initially prove that binding happened?
