Asking this cause I seem to need a portofolio before i can apply to scholarships and i am still in my second year in egypt and the resources and the faculty members aren't the most qualifed to ask thanks in advance
I do recommend the complete reading of Creswell, J. W. (2014). Research Design: Qualitative, Quantitative and Mixed Methods Approaches (4th ed.). Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage.
Before you can design a study, you need to have a research question that you want to answer. Developing a coherent research question often requires a year or two of graduate school. In my experience, that process usually begins with defining a field of interest and becoming familiar with the literature in that field. During that process, you should pay particular attention to attention to how authors in your field define their research questions and choose their research methods.
