How edge cracks are formed in polymer matrix composites?

I have seen some research work on edge cracks on composite.

Where and when can we observe the edge cracks in composites? Please elaborate on the answer.

Dear Manikanta Reddy, cracks are generaly due to stress relaxation once curing is not uniform along depth mainly. It is like they are two different parts in terms of properties such as density. The interface is the subject to opposite tension resulting in cracking. My Regards
