Reservoir Geomechanics
How easy would it remain to distinguish the following three different scenarios in a real field reservoir (with available limited data)?
(A) When the magnitudes of the stresses acting in the reservoir rock remaining to be lower than the yield strength, and in turn, the rocks behaving elastically and deformations remaining small;
(B) When the changes in stresses exceeding the compressive Yield (peak or pore collapse strengths) and in turn, the Reservoir rock failing through shearing or compaction, and subsequently, leading to non-linear irreversible deformation;
(C) The stresses becoming tensile, and leading to fracturing of the formation.
