Just to know how references of research papers uploaded on RG platform are actually captured. Some are capture very well, some very few while some published academic books are not captured at all. Just wondering........
The total citation depends on the database used, for example, RG counts all citations from the papers those on RG. So if you have cited by other paper not added to RG it will not counted. Google scholar shows the highest number of citations as all published papers could be found by google. When you moved to Scopus you will find lower number of citation as it counts only the papers indexed by Scopus only. Same if you go to Thomson Returnees u will get lower citation as it counts from papers indexed by WoS only.
I think it is a little complicated. Can't really identify how the references are captured in an unequal manner. Hope some experts in this aspect can shed more light on this issue.

Some of my papers were captured twice...I had to delete one to give room for the other...In my own opinion the RG capturing is not all that accurate as compared to that of google scholar.
Thank you very much dear Dr. Hadeel Saleh Haj Aliwi for your kind recommending my so simple previous question via this link, really we are all representing one academic family and have to strongly create a mutual cooperation group.
I am up-voting the all above mentioned excellent comments and especially that of our beloved citation expert Dr. Gomaa A. M. Ali where he presented a detailed answer.
References of some publications are not still captured on RG platform. Like books published that are actually to be purchased online from the publishers webpages.
