Mixture or no mixture, synthetic chemicals require energy in order to be produced. This energy used in factories to produce fertilizers, or pesticides derives from burning non-renewable fossil fuels. Therefore, the contribution to global climate change (about 40%) in U.S. agriculture for example is indirect, yet significant to causing more unpredictable weather patterns on a global scale.

I think their contribution to climate change may be similar to their contribution if they are added separately .

I think that your question is very pertinent.

First of all, local farmers have their own way of managment which appears to be the best depending on their knowledge about their farming systems.

Usually, it is difficult to observe and monitor the emission of greenhouse gases from agricultural fields unless very sophisticated instruments are used to record and quantify the emissions. If you can monitore this on farmers' farms following the inputs they use, the next question to answer will be to what extent do these emissions contribute to global warming, and hence climate change.

Since carbondioxide, Nitrous oxides and methane are the major greenhouse gases emitted from agricultural fields, what i may suggest is for you to layout experiments with the farmers' inputs and then monitor the effects of these inputs on amounts of greenhouse gases.

A major challenge to such a study will be for you to carry out long term monitoring and make use of special experimental conditions.

Unfortunately i have not verified this. However, the mixture will be considered a good practice if it meets its objectives i.e. if applied in the recommended quantities and they lead to maximum crop yield and efficient protection from pests and diseases while conserving the environment.

On the other hand, if the mixture does not yield significantly satisfactory results, then this practice should not be encourage.

Another thing to consider is the type of fertilizer and insecticide used. Remember that they are chemical substances which can react with one another to produce other substances. I think there are many things to consider in order to conclude if such a practice is good in farming.
