Both substances darken when exposed to light, but I would like to inquire about details in their color changes (if there is a direct or gradual color change), how quickly the change occurs after exposure to daylight or a UV radiation source, etc. I would like to know if I am able to tell one substance from another while they are both exposed to sun light.
Hi.In both cases photoreduction of Ag ions into Ag metal happens..the rate of colour change depends on the energy and intensity of irradiatting light source.Obviously,the higher the concentration of the salts are, the earlier u will realise the colour change..Im not sure whether you can differenciate them based on colour....I hope it helps..
