It is really fast and cheap. Just prepare the 2 % Agar with M9 buffer and pipette ~500 ul on a slide. Put a second slide on top to squeeze the agar. In order to immobilize the worms one can use 5 ul Sodiumazide solution (30 nM). You could also buy DAPI containing Fluoromount G solution (SouthernBiotech) when using dead worms in immunostainings.
if you want to see the worm alive it can be mounted on a cavity slide or microwell plate or small petri dish. . To immobilise the worm slighty warm the slide or plate by keeping it an incubator at 40-45 degree centigrade for a few minutes.
