I usually use two component 5 min of 24h epoxy (commercial epoxy glue) or commercial two components based (powder catalysts+) Methyl-methacrylate dental systems.

Not at all for long time, and is dried at room temperature.

Sometimes one can get tiny air bubbles in the epoxy that can be hard to clean after they are exposed by grinding and polishing off the surface. They can carry contamination, depending on what experiments you want to do. Vacuum will remove them before curing. Commercial manufacturers use PEEK, PTFE or Kel-F.

Actually, they are supposed to be a small but important part of a more complex design, about which it is too early to say anything definite. But anyway, if this projects results in something, you are going to have some samples.

We prepare the epoxy mix (e.g., 24h Araldite) on a plastic plate heated to ca. 50ºC. This reduces the viscosity and helps eliminating bubbles. Good luck!

I can add some more examples from my experience. You can use plastic, namely high pressure polyethylene that is used frequently as a material to store reagents (for instance alkalis). You should melt it in open flame and rapidly until it soft make sealed coating around you metal electrode. After few minutes of solidification it is ready for polishing etc. This method has one advance. It is simplicity of preparation.
