My procedure for deparaffinization of a kidney specimen embedded in paraffin is as follows:
Overnight in xylene
The following day:
100% ethyl alcohol- 10 minutes
100% ethyl alcohol - 10 minutes
95% ethyl alcohol- 10 minutes
80% ethyl alcohol- 10 minutes
70% ethyl alcohol- 10 minutes
50% ethyl alcohol- 10 minutes
0.1M sodium cacodylate- 10 minutes
Can I apply the same protocol for bone marrow embedded tissue?

Procedure for a bonemarrow biopsy (3-5 mm diameter):
Overnight in xylene may render the bonemarrow to brittle. On the otherside, I think the 10 minutes steps are too short.
60 min in xylene at 60°C should do the deparaffination.
100% 30 min at 60°C
96% - 80% - 50% each 30 min, then water or buffer
The additional time in ethanol may lead to ethanol-fixation instead of formaldehyd-fixation, if the primary fixation in formaldehyd was not sufficient.
Deparaffination on slide with 1-3 µm sections:
2x 5 min xylene, 1 min each 100%-96%-80%-50%-water/buffer (with agitation)
If you have embedded the tissue in paraffin then the procedure for depparfenization is the same as for the kidney or any other tissue
