I am about to submit an article in which I reference several of my previous works. In one case, I even write "as we've previously argued". How can this be reconciled with the peer-review process?
I agree with Wolfgang R. Dick; cite your publications in the same manner you cite the publications of other authors. Suppose that you have a twin and that you both have previously published in 2021 an article relevant to your present research paper. Instead of writing "as we've previously argued", write "Soage and Soage (2021) argue ..." Notice that this in-text citation subject is in third person plural rather than first person plural ("we've").
