Se tendrán que crear mas infraestructuras como centros médicos, residencias ect para responder a las necesidades de una población envejecida. El estado deberá hacerse cargo de pagar numerosas pensiones que pueden llevar a la crisis del sistema. Por otro lado nos encontraremos con un conflicto intergeneracional difícil de resolver
I should think that Spain is not alone as the largest part of Europe is affected by the baby boom we are the oldest population with higher numbers in 50-60 age group. This will have a huge impact financially as older people may have to work longer and much will depend on the economic cushion or financial preparation made by government in relation to pensions. In Ireland it takes 7 people in full employment to pay one pension. A decline in births means there will not be enough young people to support the ageing population. This in turn could see older people continuing to work much longer unless they have been financially prudent and saved or were fortunate to have good jobs or high paid work. This was one of the reasons I examined volunteering and the baby boom generation looking at the importance of active ageing as hospitals and medical services will be under huge pressure to care for this older population.
