I'm looking to publish some papers in the next few months. The research is mostly "methods and techniques", and I believe it is useful research; however, not landmark or groundbreaking. I've never published a paper in a peer-review journal, and the process is new to me. What are some factors/resources that you consider before publishing? For example, how do know find a list of journals that may be appropriate to my subject matter, besides just looking through papers that I use for citations? Are there any databases/archives that document journal pricing, turnaround time, acceptance rates etc..? Is there anything of the nature of "I wish someone would have told me that when I was starting out" that you might recommend? Anything would be tremendously helpful in starting this rather overwhelming pursuit.

Thank you
