01 January 1970 2 10K Report

Dear researcher,

Recently, I have difficult time to measure bile flow rate in mice. Because several article describes two ways.

First one,  mice were fasted and anesthetized. Common bile duct were cannulated with PE-10 and collect bile.

Second one, after ligation of the cystic duct, the common bile duct was cannulated with a 30-gauge needle attached to PE-10 tubing and hepatic bile was collected.

We tried both methods. But we have several trouble. I described our ways,

First one: After anesthetized mice, common duct were tied and make cut end by 30 gauge needle. We can not insert PE-10 in cut end.

Second one: When we insert 30gauge needle into common bile duct, needle goes through common duct.

Thank you for reading by spending your precious time.

Please give us suggestion or advice.

Best wishes,

Taira Wada
