How do you insert Li or other kinds of ions into anode/cathode material by using VASP?

As far as I know, VASP has a NELECT options for that. I can't understand the explanation that is done by the VASP wiki. If anyone has some demonstration with an example that would be helpful.

My system consists of 92 atoms and I want to insert lithium ions into it.
