I am always thinking about the future of civil engineering advancement in terms of new technologies and employment. I would like to know what you think about this future.
Every field of engineering is linked with each other, surviving shoulder to shoulder with each other, because of each other. Civil Engineering is a pre-requisite for any other field to grow.
Survival of Civil Engineering is directly proportional to people’s demand for houses and other infrastructure which is again directly proportional to the human population. I don’t see the population decreasing in any way. More people, more demand for construction. Construction = Bread and Butter for Civil Engineers ACHIEVED. So I am quite sure civil engineering will get more and more advanced as the time progresses. People say IT Industry has become more prominent because it provides more scope of employment and growth. During placement drives in my college, so many IT companies came and Just ask IT engineers where do they live? where do they work? Ask Mechanical guys, who made the pavement in which their cars run? Industries flourish, but the responsibility of constructing their workshops, power houses, administrative buildings goes to the civil engineers. So does for all other fields, may it be technical or non technical. We are everywhere and we are required everywhere. We just need to make sure we maintain quality standards and proficiency, I can assure the future is brighter.
