Many young people in the United States were disappointed by the outcome of our presidential election.  They fear that there will be many negative consequences.

In a larger sense, school teachers often have to try to  reassure young people when bad things happen in the world, like storms, terrorist attacks, accidents, etc.  Parents often have the same challenge.

Have you had this experience?  If so, how did you approach it?  If you have not, how WOULD you talk with them?

Is there research that helps us understand what to say?
