For my final year project, I am aiming to perform 3-point bend test simulations on stainless steel-17-4 PH. My project is to investigate the flexural properties and deformation behaviour of additively manufactures stainless steel 17-4 PH, whilst assessing the effects of building orientation, surface roughness, and presence of a notch.
I have been given a stress-strain graph for the material which I have attached. I am having trouble understanding how to define the yield stress and plastic strain data entries on Abaqus when defining the material. My supervisor says I must use this graph to obtain this data.

First, you must convert engineering stress and engineering strain to true stress and true strain. Abaqus requires these values to interpret the data correctly. convert them to true values using these equations:
ε = ln (1+ε0)
σ = σ0 (1+ε0)
Then import true values in Abaqus. In the property module of Abaqus, you must enter stresses in the first column and plastic strains in the second one. Plastic strains are determined by taking yield strain from the true strain.
εplastic = ε-εyield
