Since I first took a professional development course in collaborative learning about 10 years ago, I have found that the two terms have apparently begun to be used interchangeably. Do you do research in one of these fields or know of others who define them similarly or differently? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Collaborative learning is a method of teaching and learning in which students team together to explore a significant question or create a meaningful project. A group of students discussing a lecture or students from different schools working together over the Internet on a shared assignment are both examples of collaborative learning.
Cooperative learning, which will be the primary focus of this workshop, is a specific kind of collaborative learning. In cooperative learning, students work together in small groups on a structured activity. They are individually accountable for their work, and the work of the group as a whole is also assessed. Cooperative groups work face-to-face and learn to work as a team.

Agree with above, and would suggest that co-operative learning in case of Co-op program in UK is assessed based on industrial project, where student work for a certain period of time with the professional in industry or business.
Collaborative learning, could be learning across the globe with students from different countries via Internet Video-Conference, as well as, exploring potential inter-disciplinary experience on campus, whole working with colleagues and students from different departments (i.e. applied informatics, medical, bio - informatics.)

I think it depends on what you are interested in. If I were to come across as defining the terms for learning purposes I would differentiate them on the basis of cognitive and then constructive branches. However, when looking at their impact in research, I would say that the opportunity to collaborate with professionals leads to different ends from cooperating to develop a professional program. Having said that, this is my intuition the area. Should I be enticed to work in the area, I would try to discover how others view them from their theoretical positions and perhaps try and tease out the themes emerging.
